The Dolphins made a good choice signing Chad Ochocinco! Some people think he might be too much of a drama queen, but I think it will add character to this team. They need a player to spark up this offense and give them a name for themselves since they've been struggling with this ever since Marino left. He's not a long term option, but could really help out the other guys. Our wide receivers are a very young group with only 2 returning starters from last year. The quicker Ochocinco can start practicing, then the quicker the Dolphins will become successful.

Miami Dolphins Draft Picks

The first round pick was obvious, you have an Offensive Coordinator that helped develop Tannenhill into his first round success, and plus the Dolphins really needed to find a quarterback to solidify that roll. For the second round pick it kind of worried me a bit. They drafted Jonathan Martin, offensive tackle from Stanford. This was the man to cover Andrew Luck’s blindside. What worries me is he is supposed to compliment with Jake Long, but Jake Long’s rookie contract is coming up to an end pretty soon. So, I was wondering if Martin was the pick for life after Jake Long. If it is, he has some big shoes to fill, and hopefully he could live up to the expectations. As for the third round pick they drafted defensive end Olivier Vernon and Michael Egnew. This is a risky pick considering Olivier had some off the field issues with a booster. He was suspended for about 6 games last season because of it. But, from the few games that I watched of him, and from some YouTube videos it showed that this man is a freak of nature and could really help out Cameron Wake. With Fasano not being very productive and sometimes inconsistent, made them draft Egnew. It didn’t play so well with Missou last year but I think he can develop into a nice threat over time with Tannenhill. For the 4^th round selection they drafted a running back from Miami, Lamar Miller. This was a very good pick for the new style offense. He can be compared to a Reggie Bush style back with his quick legs and pretty good hands. With Daniel being the goal line back, Reggie and Lamar could make a good tandem in the back field and surprise a lot of fans. These were the 5 picks that I thought would immediately help out the team, and no surprise that 4 out of 5 were offensive picks. As for the others like B.J Cunningham, Josh Kaddu, Kheeston Randall, and Richard Matthews they will most likely develop into the next few years, and probably won’t be seen that much in their rookie campaign.

Stephen Ross have new plans?

From doing a lot of research on the Dolphins and Stephen Ross, he finally made a point that I actually liked. And that is to bring super bowl L to Miami. With that said, It showed he had confidence in the new coach and that he actually wants to start winning ball games instead of just trying to make money. Also, he talked about how he wants to make Sun Life different, and by adding in a water park. He also talked about adding a canvas over the stadium for protection against rain. We'll see for the future and hopefully Stephen Ross keeps to his word!

Are the Dolphin's finally out of their Slump?

Many Dolphin fans are wondering, will it be worth spending money on a ticket to go see them?

With all the acquisitions that have happened this offseason with the Dolphins makes us a little suspicious. Questions may concern who will start at quarterback? What will our record be? How are the new coach and his staff going to do in their first season?

Well, I’m here to answer that. With all that has been going on from trading Brandon Marshall, to drafting a “franchise” quarterback, and signing an old veteran receiver in Chad Ochocinco. Not to mention, we’ll also be on the CBS show “The Hard Knocks.” So, first things first, the quarterback situation. I think the Dolphins will most likely enter the season with Matt Moore starting at quarterback. Why? Because he is what led to our end of the season success. He certainly won’t be the answer for the future, but he is a viable option to help out the youngster Tannenhill. From watching the draft in late April, I think we did a really good job. We FINALLY had a good draft class that I could look back at and say, “Wow, I can really see that person benefitting our team.” As for Brandon Marshall, it was time for him to go. He blatantly said he wanted to be traded if we couldn’t get a better quarterback, meaning “sign Manning or Flynn or I’m out.” I was actually happy with this. He really didn’t do much for the Dolphins besides giving Carpenter two pro bowl worthy seasons. I mean, if you can’t catch a ball, then why are you playing receiver especially for the money you’re making? As for our record this year, I think it will surprise most of us, and out of much consideration I’m going to say 6-10. Only because our defense is so strong and I have a feeling like this west coast offense is going to work really well. As for signing Chad, people might wonder why bring in another football Diva? Well to me I liked this signing. Chad might be aging but he can still play ball. Also, with rookie OTA’s and the receivers from the draft class not playing up to par mean that we had to bring in someone. To me, Joe Philbin and Co. will be around for a long time. I honestly think he is the man to solve the problems of Miami football. So, all in all, yes I will definitely be attending some games this year, DOLPHIN NATION!
